Pretty but top coat flaking

"I got this as a birthday gift for my friend at the end of March and now it’s almost the end of April and the gold plating is already flaking off. Which is very unfortunate because after shipping this bracelet costed me nearly $80. It’s beautiful but i expected it to last a little longer than that."
