Every Birth Month Holds a Story: Behind Our Precious by Nature Illustrations

With our new Precious by Nature collection, we wanted to celebrate these stories through jewellery that feels personal, meaningful and made to be kept. Pairing each month's birth flower with its birthstone and an engraved word of meaning, the collection is a celebration of the qualities that make every one of us unique.

To bring this idea to life beyond the jewellery itself, we invited artist and illustrator Izzy to create three original illustrations inspired by the collection. The result is a series of artworks that capture the little moments, thoughtful gestures and natural details at the heart of our Birthstone Collection.

A little creative freedom

When it came to working with Izzy, we knew we wanted her distinctive illustration style to shine through. Rather than providing a tightly defined brief, we gave her the freedom to explore the collection's designs and discover her own inspiration in the stories behind them.

At Fable England, we're drawn to the meaning behind the things we create, whether it's a flower chosen for its symbolism or a keepsake given to someone special. We wanted the illustrations to reflect that same sentiment, allowing Izzy to interpret the collection in a way that felt entirely her own.

By leaving room for her imagination, we hoped to create something that felt less like an illustration of a product and more like a little world inspired by it. One where nature, jewellery and the moments we share with others could come together in unexpected ways.

When flowers become keepsakes

One of the most lovely details of the collection is the connection between each birth flower and the jewellery it inspires. Every month has its own flower, birthstone colour and engraved word, giving each piece a meaning of its own.

Izzy's illustrations play with this idea in a wonderfully imaginative way. In one, lily of the valley flowers become pendants themselves, blurring the line between the natural world and the jewellery inspired by it. Delicate petals take on a new purpose, turning a familiar flower into something to be worn and treasured.

It's a fitting interpretation of a collection that finds meaning in nature's smallest details. Just as each flower carries its own symbolism, every charm is designed to celebrate a particular month and the qualities associated with it.
